Bar Weight Calculator
Choose the shape, grade and size to calculate theoretical stainless steel bar weight.
Enter the bar size and length to calculate theoretical weight.
Example calculation
304 round bar, 20 mm diameter, 6 m per piece, 10 pieces.
Theoretical result: about 2.49 kg/m, 14.95 kg per piece and 149.48 kg total.Stainless steel bar weight calculator FAQ
Is this calculator for actual shipment weight?
No. It gives theoretical weight. Final shipment weight may vary with tolerance, finish, cutting loss and production condition.
Why do different stainless steel grades use different densities?
Different alloy compositions have slightly different nominal densities, so grade selection can change the calculated weight.
What should I use for hex bar size?
Use the across-flats dimension, not the corner-to-corner distance.
Can I use the result for a quotation request?
Yes, as a first estimate. For quotation, also send grade, exact size, length, quantity, finish and destination.
